The managing director of Matchwork UK, Chris Stanley, gave a presentation about online recruitment at the Classified Advertising Seminar organised by the International Newspaper Marketing Association (INMA) and IFRA recently in Warsaw/Poland.

Chris spoke about the challenges facing newspaper publishers in the United Kingdom in the recruitment advertising market. For example, in the UK about 41 percent of job seekers use the internet and this number is set to grow. There is a migration of activity and revenue from print to online. Chris highlighted the strength and confidence that publishers should have for a long term future for print but also the need to develop an online offering to satisfy changing customer demand.
In the presentation Chris explained several examples of publishers who are successfully meeting this challenge and generating significant revenues. And, at the end presented a summary of suggested action for publishers drawn from MatchWork’s experience of working with around 65% of the UK regional press.
