CV Registration is becoming more popular
Jobseekers are visiting websites more often and are spending more time on the sites (viewing more pages). Equally significantly, they are showing increased interest in registering their CVs online.
In MatchWork’s prime markets – Denmark, Sweden, Germany, United Kingdom and Norway - registration of new CVs has increased by more than 60% in some months.
The average increase on new CV registrations for the whole of 2008 – compared month-by-month to 2007 is 22% for all countries where UK and Sweden shows increases of more than 50%.
Many reasons for the increase
This increase in activity is higher than can be explained by “normal fluctuations“ and the reasons lie in one or more of the following: =
General economic downturn:
The decline in the world economy has increased unemployment and people want to be more aware of new job opportunities – both as a contingency plan if they are laid off and for a new job for the unemployed . And, fortunately for the online business, THIS ACTIVITY IS MOVING TO THE INTERNET!
Jobseekers see the Internet as the primary search channel:
Online job advertising is now in a mature state and jobseekers are now using the Internet as their first choice, assisted by other sources such as print advertising.
MatchWork’s improved job seeker experience:
The MatchWork solution contains features that make jobseeking easier for jobseekers. These features improve advertising visibility where ads can be found on search engines, where ads can get premium display on websites. On the CV database side, it is related to the intuitive CV registration tool; MatchWork’s CV-Converter, that converts jobseeker CVs (text documents) into structured online searchable CVs. This converter is now available for Swedish, Danish and German CVs as well as English (the latter has been in market since 2007).
