Archant gets Great Results in CV Generation

Over the past few months MatchWork’s UK partner, Archant, has experienced great results in generating CVs from jobseekers across its Jobs 24 CV Match platform. Whilst the current economic climate may not be the brightest, it is important to gather as many CVs from jobseekers now in order to build the power of the CV matching service and add short and longer term value.

Archant relaunched its Jobs 24 CV matching service in April 2008 with a clear objective – to generate significant increases in the number of active CVs, and an equally clear strategy – to use every possible means of promotion and to maintain a sustained effort throughout the year.

This sustained effort is particularly pleasing and has been consistently high since the relaunch. Well-thought-out competitions and one-off promotions can sometimes generate a pleasing spike in the number of registrations on a site and these are valuable additions to the CV database, but a sustained effort is necessary to attract consistently high numbers of fresh jobseekers.

A Combination of Approaches

Whilst Archant has run attractive and successful competitions, it has also put drive behind the daily, weekly and monthly efforts required to grow a CV database successfully. This sustained effort is a combination of approaches which, individually might not seem much, but collectively have given Archant these impressive results.

There is clear and informative signposting across Jobs 24 that drives jobseekers to the CV match area. In addition, banners, including skyscrapers, promote the service across the other channels powered by Archant including individual newspaper brands.

Archant has also successfully used Google Adwords to drive users to the site and has seen valuable returns on its investment of time and money in this area. Targeted email marketing has also been successful, whilst the more traditional promotion of the service via the print products continues to be valuable. The in-paper campaigns are regularly revisited and redesigned so they attract attention… we have seen other long-running campaigns become stale and ineffective.

Periodical competitions to win a Nintendo Wii if you register a CV have been enthusiastically received. In addition, Archant always makes sure that the CV match service has its own dedicated stand at the recruitment fairs that are run by the newspaper centres.

Impressive Results

In November 2008, CV generation for Archant was over 800% higher than during the same month a year earlier. This is obviously fantastic news and shows that Archant is doing well in attracting jobseekers to Jobs 24 CV match since the service was relaunched in April 2008.

There has never been a better time to ensure that your CV database is constantly attracting fresh candidates. Given the current economic climate, there is a growing number of jobseekers in the market for new career opportunities. Whilst the number of vacancies might not be following the same trend as the number of jobseekers, it will at some point in the not-too-distant future! This means that when the employment market does start to kick back into life, publishers with the largest CV databases will be in a winning position – able to attract recruitment advertising revenue from employers and agencies and able to deliver the value and efficiency they are seeking.
